Mairi Hughes

Mairi Hughes is an experienced Features Journalist with a specialized focus as the Health Editor for My Weekly and The People's Friend magazines at DC Thomson since October 2019. Prior to this role, Mairi held positions as a Content Producer and Magazine Journalist at The Irish Voice from June 2017 to February 2021, and worked briefly as a Columnist for The Big Issue in April 2019. Early career experience includes an internship as a Book Reviewer at Rowanvale Books from June to December 2017. Mairi holds a Master's degree in Magazine Journalism from Cardiff University and a Bachelor's degree in Journalism and Creative Writing/English Literature from the University of Strathclyde, complemented by an Erasmus experience in English/Media Studies at the University of Oslo.
