Shestin Thomson

Shestin Thomson is a Project Officer with the International Security Sector Advisory Team at DCAF - Geneva Centre for Security Sector Governance since August 2023. Previous experience includes serving as a Professional Staff Member and Staff Associate for the United States House Committee on Foreign Affairs from March 2019 to September 2021, and working as a Policy Advisor and Legislative Correspondent for Congressman William R. Keating from October 2017 to September 2021. Thomson has a diverse background in program coordination and international relations, with significant roles at the U.S. Department of State, where leadership programs for emerging female leaders from Sub-Saharan Africa were directed. An educational foundation includes a Master of Development Studies from the Geneva Graduate Institute and a Bachelor’s Degree in International Relations from the University of Delaware. Thomson has engaged in various initiatives to support refugees, improve educational access, and address social development issues.
