Nicolas Larose has a diverse work experience in firmware and software development. Nicolas started their career as an Intern Software Developer at CAE in 2000, where they developed diagnostic and validation tools for flight simulators. Nicolas then worked as a Software Developer at Secureops, designing and implementing software modules for network monitoring systems.

In 2003, Nicolas joined Cleral Inc. as a Firmware Designer, where they designed, implemented, and improved products for on-board weighing systems for trucks. Nicolas also developed communication protocols and firmware for RS485 and power line carrier.

From 2005 to 2010, Nicolas worked at Paradox Innovation as an Embedded System Designer, where they drafted technical specifications, assessed project feasibility, and established project deadlines.

In 2010, Nicolas joined Kontron as a Software Developer, performing requirements analysis, writing software specifications, and developing BIOS and firmware.

From 2011 to 2012, Nicolas worked at Sangoma Technologies as a Software Developer, designing and developing C/C++ applications and APIs for Linux and Windows.

Nicolas then moved to Schneider Electric in 2012, working as an Embedded Software Developer. Nicolas helped develop an embedded platform based on Linux OS, wrote Bash scripts, and performed software bring-up for new hardware.

In 2016, Nicolas joined Kinova as a Senior Firmware Engineer, where they developed and maintained firmware for robot arm components, provided internal support, created software tools, and assisted in hardware bring-up.

Most recently, Nicolas worked at Lion Electric from 2022 to 2023 as a Senior Firmware Developer before moving to DCBEL in 2023 for the same role.

Nicolas Larose attended Collège de l'Outaouais from 1995 to 1998, where they obtained a college degree in Computerized Systems. Following this, they pursued their education at École de technologie supérieure from 1998 to 2002. During this time, they earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering. In addition to their formal education, Nicolas Larose obtained two certifications: "Build a Modern Computer from First Principles: From Nand to Tetris (Project-Centered Course)" from Coursera in August 2017, and "Using Databases with Python" from Coursera in April 2017.
