Peter Håkansson has a diverse work experience spanning from 2000 to the present. Peter began their career at the University of Delaware as a College Instructor, where they taught and trained students in formal dining and wine service. In 2000, they joined Marriott International and held several roles, including Room Service Manager, Restaurant Manager, Banquet Manager, Director of Restaurants, and Director of Event Management. In 2008, Peter joined De Bergenske as Director, and later became the Chief Operating Officer (COO) and Driftsdirektør.

Peter Håkansson has a diverse education history. In 1996, they attended the EHL Swiss School of Tourism and Hospitality (SSTH) where they obtained a Diploma in Hospitality and Tourism. Peter then pursued further education at the American Hotel & Lodging Educational Institute (AHLEI), earning a Management Diploma in Hotel Management from 1996 to 2005. In 1999, Peter studied at the University of Delaware, where they obtained a Bachelor's degree in Hotel, Restaurant and Institutional Management. Peter then went on to complete an MBA in Management/Strategy from the Norwegian School of Economics (NHH) between 2009 and 2010. Lastly, in 2014, Peter enrolled at Cornell University to attend the GMP, The General Manager Program, where they obtained a degree in the same field.
