Maite Vermeulen

Maite Vermeulen is an experienced journalist and editor with a strong background in migration issues. Currently serving as Migration Editor at De Correspondent since July 2013, Maite also hosts the podcasts "Containerbegrip" and "Never Expect Power Always." Prior to this role, Maite worked as a Contributing Editor for NRC Media from September 2011 to July 2013 and gained freelance journalism experience with various newspapers, including nrc. next and NRC Handelsblad, between 2009 and 2010. Maite's early career included translating English and Dutch documents at VisionWaves from 2008 to 2009. Educational qualifications include a Master of Arts from King's College London, an exchange semester in Journalism at Monash University, and a Bachelor of Arts from University College Utrecht.
