Dirk Bakker

Dirk Bakker is an experienced production and copy editor currently working at Brill since April 2018. Between October 2013 and October 2017, Dirk served as a postdoc at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam, focusing on computer-assisted linguistic research related to Classical Hebrew. Prior to that, Dirk contributed as a researcher at Leiden University from September 2005 to September 2013, specializing in computational linguistics and Assyriology, and completed a PhD with a focus on early Syriac texts. Dirk holds a Master's degree in Semitic Languages and Cultures from the University of Groningen, obtained in 2005.
