Simon Jones

Simon Jones is an experienced data science professional currently serving as the Head of Data Science at De La Rue since February 2022. Previously, Simon held roles including Senior Finance Business Partner at Network Rail, and Director of Data Science & Analytics at Carnival UK. Simon has a strong background in operational research, having worked at The AA as both Head of BI and Ops Systems and in various analytical roles. Notable contributions include enhancing forecasting processes with R at De La Rue and receiving multiple international awards for the DLR Analytics application. Simon's career also includes positions at the NHS, Centrica, and an academic role as a Research Fellow at the School of Mathematics, Southampton University. Simon earned a PhD and MSc in Operational Research from the University of Southampton and holds a first-class BSc in Mathematics from the University of Reading.
