John Poesen

John Poesen has worked in various roles and companies throughout their career. John started their career at Brussels Airport Company as a Procurement Manager from June 2010 to March 2016. John then held positions at different companies such as Randstad, EDF Luminus, Karel de Grote Hogeschool, AZ Sint-Elisabeth Zottegem, VDAB, and bpost. At bpost, they served as a Sourcing Manager, Head of Procurement, and Procurement Manager Center of Excellence. From 2018 to 2021, they worked at NMBS as the Head of Supplier Quality Assurance and later as the Head of Procurement Excellence. Currently, they are the Chief Procurement Officer at De Lijn since January 2022.

John Poesen's education history is as follows. From 1987 to 1988, they attended Université catholique de Louvain and obtained a Maîtrise en Administration et en Gestion (M.B.A.) degree with a focus on Marketing. In 2005, they studied at APICS - CPIM to gain knowledge in Basics of Supply Chain Management. Prior to that, from 1983 to 1987, they pursued a degree in Handelsingenieur with a specialization in Beleidsinformatica at UHasselt. In their earlier years, between 1977 and 1983, they completed their humaniora studies with a focus on Latin and Mathematics at Sint-Lambertuscollege in Bilzen. Additionally, they attended Lagere School in Grote Spouwen for their elementary education. In 2021, they briefly joined Vlerick Business School for a program on Mastering Interim Management.
