Helen Root

Helen Root is an experienced pharmacy education professional currently serving as the Head of Pharmacy Practice and Associate Professor at De Montfort University since August 2011. In this capacity, Helen provides strategic leadership in pharmacy practice, oversees curriculum development, and manages staff within the Pharmacy Practice team. Additional roles include Fitness to Practise Investigator for Health and Life Sciences and past Programme Leader for the MPharm course, which received accreditation from the General Pharmaceutical Council. Helen's previous experiences include various academic and training positions, notably at Boots UK and CPPE, alongside contributions to the British Acupuncture Accreditation Board and the Office for Students. Helen holds a Master’s degree in Pharmacy from the University of Bradford and multiple postgraduate certifications related to health law and higher education.
