Helena Dunbar

Helena Dunbar serves as the Chief Executive Officer at Kentown Support since March 2025, where responsibilities include providing strategic leadership and operational management. In addition to this role, Helena has extensive academic involvement at De Montfort University, acting as an Honorary Senior Research Fellow, Associate Professor, and Senior Lecturer & Subject Lead for the Child Field of Practice since August 2012. Previous positions include Director of Service Development and Improvement at Together for Short Lives (March 2021 - February 2025), Consultant Nurse for Children's Respiratory Diseases at University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust (October 2006 - August 2011), and various roles within children's nursing focused on respiratory diseases and service development across multiple NHS trusts. Helena holds a PhD in Children's Nursing from De Montfort University (2014-2017) and several other degrees and qualifications in healthcare and management.
