Robert Chen

Robert Chen currently serves as the Deputy Head of International Activities and holds the position of Associate Professor in Footwear Design Technology at De Montfort University since July 2001. Previously, Robert was an Associate Professor in Industrial Design at National Yunlin University of Science and Technology from August 1999 to July 2001, and Deputy General Manager at the Taiwan Footwear and Recreation Research Institute from May 1997 to August 1999. Earlier in his career, Robert worked as a Senior Manager in the Division of Product and Footwear Design at the China Productivity Centre from May 1986 to May 1997. Educational qualifications include a PhD in Medical Product Design and Engineering from King's College, University of London, an MPhil in Product and Footwear Design from Leicester Polytechnic, a PGDip in Products and Ergonomics Design from National Tsukuba University, and a BSc in Industrial Design Engineering from National Cheng Kung University.
