Edmond Vrancken

Edmond Vrancken is a seasoned banking supervisor and climate/ESG expert with extensive experience in financial institutions and regulatory frameworks. Currently serving as the Co-chair of the Climate / ESG Expert Group at the European Central Bank since March 2021, Edmond leads supervisory initiatives on climate-related risks. At De Nederlandsche Bank since August 2011, Edmond has held roles including Head of Mission and Senior Banking Supervisor, focusing on the sustainability of banks’ business models, and as a Strategic Policy Advisor, where Edmond contributed to the development of pioneering European guidance for assessing bank business models. Previous experience includes founding StudyIntentions, serving as a Banking & Payments Specialist at McKinsey & Company, and working as a Trainee Economist for the European Commission. Edmond holds multiple degrees, including an MSc in European Political Economy from The London School of Economics and Political Science and an MSc in International Economic Studies from Maastricht University.
