Niels Laenen

Niels Laenen is a legal professional with extensive experience in market access supervision and financial law. Currently serving as Supervisor Market Access at De Nederlandsche Bank since February 2024, Niels previously worked as a Trainee in Enforcement at the European Securities and Markets Authority from July 2023 to January 2024. Prior roles include a Working Student in Banking & Finance at Hogan Lovells and paralegal work at Wolfs Advocaten. Niels held leadership positions within the academic community at Universiteit Maastricht, serving on the Examination Appeals Board and as an Elected Member of the Faculty Council. Niels holds an LLM in European Law School from Maastricht University and an LLM in International Financial Law from King's College London, complementing an educational background in Corporate Finance Law and a Gymnasium degree from Sint-Maartenscollege.
