Maree Wacker

CEO at Fora Health Treatment & Recovery

Maree Wacker is a recognized leader with more than 25 years of experience in non-profit management.

Maree serves as the CEO of Fora Health Treatment & Recovery and joined the organization in 2014. In her capacity as CEO, she leads over 150 employees across three locations who provide substance use and mental health treatment services to over 2,000 adults, youth and their families annually. Maree shares leadership with a 12-member Board of Directors for the 40-year-old nonprofit.

Maree led the effort to raise $29 million in funding for our new, 53,000 sq. ft. treatment facility and center of excellence in Portland’s SE Gateway District. Always looking to lead the expansion of Fora Health’s positive community impact, Maree retained the organization’s first Chief Clinical and Chief Medical Officers to deliver integrated behavioral health programs to Oregonians who struggle with co-occurring substance use and mental health disorders.

Prior to joining Fora Health, Maree served as the Regional CEO for the Cascades Region of the American Red Cross. In her capacity at the Red Cross, Maree was responsible for six local chapters in Oregon and Southwest Washington, working with the local boards and executive directors and over 2,000 employees and volunteers. She also served on the organization’s national level marketing advisory and preparedness committees. She was appointed by Governor Kitzhaber to the Task Force for implementation of the Oregon Resilience Plan.

Wacker has fundraised more than $150 million in her professional career and led major fundraising efforts for the Sisters of St. Mary of Oregon and a new Children’s Museum of Richmond (Virginia). She currently serves as Vice President of the Oregon Council for Behavioral Health and earned a Master’s degree in Public Policy from Duke University and a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science from Washington State University.
