Sara Heinsbroek is an experienced project manager specializing in sustainability and responsible investment at the Dutch Association of Investors for Sustainable Development (VBDO) since February 2021. Previously, Sara held the position of Junior Project Manager at VBDO and a Research Intern in sustainability within the financial sector. Additional experience includes working as a Customer Service Representative for the National Corona Test Appointment Line at Teleperformance and as a Roadside Assistance team member at Allianz Global Assistance NL. Sara's earlier roles include an Analyst Intern position at Sustainalytics, focusing on environmental, social, and governance issues, and participating as a Student Member on the Korean Culture Search Committee at Leiden University. Sara holds a Master of Arts in Asian Studies with a focus on Korean Studies and a Bachelor of Arts in the same field from Leiden University.

- MISSION - As an independent association, we have been a passionate driver, motivator, and thought leader for responsible investment and for embedding sustainability in companies since 1995. With respect and expertise, we help organizations make choices that look beyond financial gain, but also take social, environmental and governmental aspects into consideration. - ACTIVITIES - Progress through knowledge sharing is central to VBDO. We give substance to our mission by publishing benchmarks and thematic studies, organizing round tables and seminars and asking the right, critical questions at shareholders' meetings. We prefer doing this in collaboration with other stakeholders. Our members include institutional and private investors, as well as a number of leading NGOs. We represent more than 80% of the capital invested by Dutch investors and are seen as an important and respected discussion partner for the media and politics, among others.
