Andrew Cain

Andrew Cain is a seasoned academic with extensive experience in educational leadership and curriculum development, currently serving as the Associate Head of School (Learning) at Deakin University since November 2016. This role followed significant contributions as Associate Head of School (Curriculum), where Andrew introduced innovative degrees, including Australia's first courses in Artificial Intelligence. Andrew also led initiatives to produce online courses at the school as the Associate Head of School (Cloud Learning), notably launching the first complete Master of Cyber Security on the Future Learn platform. Prior to this, Andrew held various positions at Swinburne University of Technology, including Senior Lecturer, where research focused on portfolio assessment in computer science education. Andrew's academic credentials include a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Computer Science Education, a Master of Science (M.Sc.) in Computer Software Engineering, and a Bachelor of Information Technology, all from Swinburne University of Technology.
