Andy Newton

Andy Newton is an experienced professional in media and communications, currently serving in the Media & Corporate Affairs division of Deakin University since May 2022. Prior to this role, Andy worked at The Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists, focusing on strategic communications and advocacy from April 2018 to April 2022. Andy's earlier experience includes working with the Victorian Integrated Cancer Services and the Department of Health and Human Services in the development of a cancer performance monitoring framework from January 2015 to November 2017. Additionally, Andy held the position of Director of Strategic Communications and Engagement at Ceutica from 2000 to December 2014, specializing in digital health and medical communications. Andy's career began as a consultant in media, public relations, and events at Sportcom from 1993 to 1999. Education includes studies at the University of Melbourne and the Philip Institute of Technology.
