Iain Doherty

Iain Doherty is an experienced academic leader in learning innovation, currently serving as Associate Director Learning Innovation and Senior Lecturer at Deakin University since May 2016. In this role, Iain leads a team to support teaching and learning initiatives aligned with the university's strategic priorities. Previously, Iain held the position of Director of Learning and Teaching Innovation at Navitas, where responsibilities included managing educational change and leading curriculum development projects. Iain's experience also encompasses serving as Associate Professor and Director of the eLearning Pedagogical Support Unit at The University of Hong Kong, and Director of the Learning Technology Unit at The University of Auckland. Iain's educational background includes a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Philosophy of Religion from The University of Edinburgh, along with degrees from The University of Newcastle-Upon-Tyne.
