Petra Helal

Petra Helal currently serves as the Crisis Leadership Programme Coordinator at Deakin University since November 2023. Prior to this role, Petra held various positions at Plan International from January 2021 to November 2023, including Engagement Manager, Global Partnerships Advisor, Senior Partnerships Coordinator, Partnerships Coordinator, and Deployed Partnerships Manager in support of the Ukraine Response. Experience also includes being a Senior Skills Coordinator at Mercy Corps from October 2019 to January 2021, and a Reports Officer at Justice Without Frontiers in early 2019. Additional roles include Resource Mobilization at UNICEF and multiple positions at the GC LAU Model United Nations and 180 Degrees Consulting from 2015 to 2018. Petra holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science/International Affairs and a Bachelor of Science in Economics from Lebanese American University.
