Professor David John Edwards

Professor David John Edwards currently serves as a Visiting Professor at Nelson Mandela University and a Docent at the University of Oulu, Finland. With extensive experience in academia, Edwards has held the position of Professor in the Built Environment at Birmingham City University since October 2016 and is an Honorary Professor at Deakin University. Additional roles include Distinguished Visiting Professor at the University of Johannesburg and Adjunct Professor at the University of South Australia. Edwards is the Founder of the Off-Highway Plant and Equipment Research Centre (OPERC), recognized as a leading international center for plant and equipment management science. Previous positions include Adjunct Professor at Kwame Nkrumah'​ University of Science and Technology and a Visiting Professor there earlier in the career. Academically, Edwards holds a BSc(Hons) First Class and a Ph.D. in Construction Management and Plant Management from the University of Wolverhampton.
