Alex Giolo

Alex Giolo has a diverse work experience in the retail industry. Alex currently serves as the Chief Executive Officer at Decathlon Egypt since June 2023. Prior to this role, they worked as the Africa Hub Director at DECATHLON MAROC from January 2021 to June 2023. Before their time in Africa, they held multiple positions at Newfeel, including Technical Director from January 2019 to January 2021, Project Manager from October 2018 to January 2021, and Retail Supplier from September 2016 to January 2019. In earlier years, they served as the CEO at Decathlon Bulgaria from August 2012 to September 2016 and as an Area Manager at Decathlon Italia from November 2009 to August 2012. Alex also held roles such as Store Manager and Department Manager at Decathlon Italia. Prior to their career in retail, they worked as a Territory Marketing Manager at Promofirenze and as an Operator at Autogrill.

Alex Giolo completed their primary education at Sapienza Università di Roma from 2002 to 2005. During this period, they pursued a degree in "Economia della Cooperazione Internazionale e dello Sviluppo" with a specialization in "Economia internazionale." Following their undergraduate studies, Alex enrolled in Ateneo Impresa in 2005 and completed a Master's program in "Relazioni Pubbliche Europee" (European Public Relations) in 2006. This degree focused on the field of "Business Administration."

In addition to their formal education, Alex has obtained two certifications from LinkedIn. In February 2020, they completed the "Leading and Working in Teams" certification, and in January 2020, they achieved the "2-Minute Tips for Senior Leaders" certification.
