Shain Harshbarger is an experienced fire service professional with over two decades of emergency response leadership. Currently serving as Fire Captain at Decatur Fire Department since March 1999, Shain has developed expertise in structural and airport firefighting and prevention. Prior experience includes serving as a Firefighter in the United States Air Force from January 1991 to January 1995. Shain's educational background includes training at the Illinois Fire Service Institute and the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign in 1999, as well as the USAF Fire School at Chanute AFB in 1991, culminating in a Fire Protection Specialist certification.
