Delvon Campbell has a diverse work experience in law enforcement. Delvon started their career in 2000 as a Deputy Sheriff at Wise County Sheriffs Department. In 2002, they joined Decatur Police Department as a Patrol Officer and later worked their way up to Patrol Sergeant, Lieutenant, Captain, and eventually Chief Of Police in January 2021. Campbell also had a leadership role at Texas Citizens on Patrol Association, serving as 1st Vice President from February 2013 to August 2014, and President from August 2014 to June 2016.

Delvon Campbell's education history begins in 1994 when they attended Bowie High School. From 1998 to 1999, they pursued higher education at Tarleton State University, although their degree and field of study during this time are unknown. In 2000, Delvon received a Basic TCLEOSE Certificate in Homeland Security and Law Enforcement from Weatherford College. In 2003, they obtained an EMT-Basic degree from the National Registry of EMT. In 2005, Delvon attended the Fire Academy at Tarrant County College. Delvon furthered their education in 2009 to 2011 by enrolling at the Bill Blackwood Law Enforcement Management Institute of Texas, specializing in Leadership Command. Finally, in 2017 to 2018, Delvon pursued Criminal Justice and Law Enforcement Administration at Columbia Southern University.
