Anup Mandal

Anup Mandal has extensive experience in the field of technology and IT management. Anup is currently serving as the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) at Deccan Herald since 2022. Previously, they worked as the CTO at Prothom Alo from 2017 to 2022, where they led the technological advancements and transformation of the company's digital media and revenue streams. Before that, Anup Mandal was the CTO at Hindustan Times from 2010 to 2017, where they implemented innovative digital strategies for the newsroom and facilitated strategic partnerships for cost-efficient IT services. From 2008 to 2010, they served as the Chief Information Officer (CIO) at Arab Media Group, responsible for providing IT direction and vision across the business units. Anup also held a leadership position at India Today as the Head of IT from 2002 to 2008, where they oversaw IT infrastructure, systems architecture, and managed shared IT services for the group. Additionally, they have worked in various managerial roles at Bharti Airtel Limited, Times Group, Crompton Greaves, and HCL Infosystems Ltd. Anup Mandal also has experience as a guest faculty at Delhi College of Engineering. Overall, they have a strong background in IT leadership, strategic planning, and business development in the media industry.

Anup Mandal completed their education chronologically as follows:

- From 1970 to 1974, they attended St. Mary's Academy in Meerut Cantt., where they obtained an ICSE certification in English, Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics.

- From 1976 to 1980, they studied at the Indian Institute of Technology in Roorkee, earning a Bachelor of Technology degree in Electronics and Communication.

- Between 1995 and 1997, they pursued an MBA degree in Technology Management & Systems from the Indian Institute of Technology in Delhi.

In addition to their formal education, Anup Mandal obtained two certifications. In April 2020, they received the "Fundamentals of Digital Marketing" certification from Google Digital Garage. In May 2020, they obtained the "Advanced Google Analytics" certification from Google Analytics Academy.
