Elizabeth Barker Mrcvs

Elizabeth Barker MRCVS serves as the European Business and Technical Manager for Companion Animal Anaesthesia and Analgesia at Dechra Pharmaceuticals PLC since May 2017, leading the successful launch of the canine sedative Zenalpha and overseeing the development of a veterinary anaesthesia app. In addition, Elizabeth holds the position of RCVS Practice Standards Assessor, ensuring compliance with standards in veterinary practices. As an Honorary RDA South Wales Regional Veterinary Surgeon, Elizabeth supports the welfare of RDA equines and participates in policy development. Elizabeth is also an FEI Official Veterinarian, responsible for horse welfare at international jumping events. Past roles include leadership in clinical support during the COVID-19 pandemic and various veterinary surgeon positions focused on equine care, anaesthesia, and client management. Elizabeth's education includes a BVetMed from the Royal Veterinary College and current studies in Graduate Entry Medicine at Swansea University.
