Franklin R. Cockerill III

Dr. Franklin R. Cockerill III is currently an advisor at Decode Health, but they have held many prestigious positions throughout their career in the medical field. Franklin was previously the Chief Medical Officer at Analyte Health from July 2015 to July 2018. Before that, they were the Chief Executive Officer at Mayo Clinic Laboratories from August 2006 to September 2014, and they also held the position of Ann and Leo Markin Professor of Microbiology, Pathology and Medicine at Mayo Clinic School of Medicine from August 2003 to September 2014. From 1998 to 2014, Dr. Cockerill was the Chair of the Department of Laboratory Medicine & Pathology at Mayo Clinic. Franklin has also been the Chair of the Division of Infectious Diseases at Mayo Clinic from June 1986 to May 1988. Dr. Cockerill's wealth of experience and knowledge makes him a valuable asset to Decode Health and they continue to use their expertise to advise and consult on various projects.

Franklin R. Cockerill III received their Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) from the University of Nebraska Medical Center. Franklin then completed a surgical internship at the University of Florida. After their internship, they did a fellowship in Infectious Diseases at Mayo Graduate School of Medicine. Franklin also did a fellowship in Clinical Microbiology at University of Toronto. Finally, they completed a post-doctoral program in Molecular Microbiology at Mount Sinai Research Institute.
