Bill Shao

Bill Shao is the current CTO at DecorMatters. Prior to this, they were the Director of Innovation Application Lab at Suning USA from May 2014 to January 2020. In this role, Bill was responsible for setting and driving the direction of the lab that connects the latest technology with Suning's core businesses.

During their time at Suning, Bill developed several AR products that aligned with the company's overall retail strategy of online to offline shopping. Bill was also responsible for influencing executives to buy-in on new ideas, commit to a timeline and goals, and deliver highly polished products.

In addition to their work in developing new products, Bill also managed all aspects of engineering team functions such as project scoping, task planning, team collaboration, individual objective plans, and career goals. Under their leadership, the team produced four AR products from concept to finish, including an AR shopping application on iOS, Hololens, and Android; Style Wall, an AR kiosk experience for clothing trends discovery and shopping; Suning Smart Home through AR on Android Tango devices; and customizable clothing products viewed in 3D that are sold directly from the manufacturer.

Bill's experience includes work in iOS (Swift and Obj-C), Android (Kotlin), and Unity 3D. Bill also has experience in web applications developed in ReactJS, VueJS, Python, and MySQL. In addition, they are familiar with AWS and Suning Cloud Service for cloud services.

Bill Shao graduated from the Rochester Institute of Technology with a Bachelor's degree in Information Technology.

They are on a team with Corban De La Vega - VP of Marketing, Xinyi Zhang - VP of Design, and Jing Xue - Co-Founder & COO. A direct report to Bill Shao is and Matthew Chung - VP of Engineering. Bill Shao reports to Farris Wu, Co-Founder & CEO.
