Chief Technology Officer at Deep Detection

José Gabriel Macías Montero has a diverse work experience in various companies and academic institutions. José Gabriel is currently working as the Chief Technology Officer and Co-Founder of Deep Detection, a company focused on technological advancements. José Gabriel joined the company in July 2020 and took on the role of Chief Technology Officer in November 2021.

In addition to their role at Deep Detection, José Gabriel is also an Assistant Professor at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona since September 2021.

Prior to their current positions, they worked at IFAE as a Senior ASIC Design Engineer for over a decade, from November 2010 to the present. In this role, they were responsible for designing mixed-signal and RF&MW integrated circuits for high energy particle detectors and medical imaging applications, successfully contributing to Spanish and European projects.

Before joining IFAE, José Gabriel worked as an Assistant Professor at the Universitat de Barcelona from September 2014 to September 2018, where they focused on teaching and research. Prior to that, they worked as a Senior RF Design Engineer at the same institution from October 2008 to October 2010, conducting research and development activities in the field of integrated RF and MW multi-band frequency synthesizers.

José Gabriel also gained research experience during their time at TU Delft, where they worked as a Research Fellow in RF and MW Circuits from February 2005 to September 2008. In this role, they were involved in RF and MW design activities for the WiComm project, specifically working on the development of main blocks for unobtrusive radio technology.

José Gabriel Macías Montero obtained their Bachelor's degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Universitat de Barcelona in 1999. José Gabriel continued their education at the same institution and earned a Master's degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from 2000 to 2002. Later, José pursued their Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Electrical, Electronics and Communications Engineering at Universitat de Barcelona from 2014 to 2018.
