Angel R del Valle Echevarria

Angel R Del Valle Echevarria is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in agriculture and plant genetics. Currently serving as an Associate in Agriculture at Deep Science Ventures since November 2021, Angel identifies and develops new opportunities in the food and agriculture sector. In addition, Angel holds the role of Gene Editing Strategy Consultant and Project Leader in Tropical Plant Molecular Genetics at the Hawaii Agriculture Research Center, focusing on integrating gene-editing technologies into tropical crops and creating innovative research pipelines. With a robust academic background that includes an adjunct position in Biology at Hawaii Pacific University and previous roles as a Laboratory Manager at the University of Hawaii at Manoa and a Postdoctoral Research Associate at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, Angel has contributed significantly to plant science research and education. Angel earned a PhD in Plant Breeding and Plant Genetics from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and a B.S. in Biology from the University of Puerto Rico.
