Rehan Hameed is the co-founder and CTO of Deep Vision. Rehan was previously a consultant for a startup, helping them to take their image analysis and enhancement algorithms from matlab code to highly optimized GPU implementations capable of real time execution on battery-powered embedded/mobile platforms. Rehan has also helped in driver-level integration of these algorithms into android and windows display paths.
Before that, they were a research assistant at Stanford University for four years, carrying out seminal work explaining why microprocessors designed today are extremely inefficient in their use of energy and silicon area, and how to rethink processor architectures to build vastly more efficient computing systems. Rehan also developed a completely new processor architecture dedicated for image analysis, computer vision and deep learning, which showed that such a dedicated processor architecture can offer one to two orders of magnitude better performance per watt for this workload compared to a DSP or GPU based solution, while still being a completely programmable system.
Rehan Hameed has a PhD in Electrical Engineering from Stanford University. Rehan also has a Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering from Stanford University. Their undergraduate degree is in Electrical Engineering from the National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST).
Rehan Hameed reports to Ravi Annavajjhala, CEO. Some of their coworkers include Ron Shelton - CFO, Raju Datla - Director, India Design Center, and Kasturi Rangam - VP Systems & Applications.
