Joan Johnson

Joan Johnson is an experienced executive currently serving as an Independent Consultant and COO at LongView Group, LLC since February 2022, and as Principal at Deep Water Point since May 2022. At Deep Water Point, Joan Johnson collaborates with a team of former senior executives to provide expertise in major government programs. Previously, Joan Johnson held the position of Deputy Assistant Secretary of the Navy for Research, Development, Test & Engineering from August 2020 to February 2022. Joan Johnson also spent over two decades at the Naval Air Warfare Center Weapons Division (NAWCWD) in various leadership roles, including Executive Director and Director of the Weapons & Energetics Department. Early in the career, Joan Johnson worked in the private sector in defense and commercial industries as a Software Engineer, Systems Engineer, Program Manager, and Department Manager. Joan Johnson obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Virginia.
