Karl Gilmore

Karl Gilmore is a British Army veteran and Chartered Project Professional with over 20 years of leadership experience across the defence, rail, and infrastructure sectors. Serving as a Warrant Officer in the Royal Logistic Corps, Karl completed multiple deployments before transitioning to the rail industry, where they held senior roles at AmeyCOLAS, Network Rail, and Transport for Wales, leading the £1.1 billion South Wales Metro transformation programme. Currently, Karl serves as Chief of Staff at the DEEP, overseeing strategy and the development of a state-of-the-art subsea research facility. In addition to their professional pursuits, Karl holds various civic roles, including Deputy Lieutenant of Gwent, and is actively involved in charitable organizations focused on supporting veterans and promoting education in STEM.
