Yumnah Mohamied

Yumnah Mohamied is a highly accomplished research scientist currently serving as a Senior Research Scientist at Deepgram since February 2025. Previously, Yumnah held the position of Postdoctoral Research Associate at The University of Edinburgh from September 2019 to December 2023, focusing on self-supervised learning algorithms for computer vision and speech applications, where a novel SSL model was developed and tested. Prior to this, Yumnah was a Research Associate at Imperial College London from July 2011 to August 2019, collaborating in an inter-disciplinary team on projects involving deep learning for cardiac electrophysiology and cardiovascular biology. Yumnah completed a PhD in Arterial Blood Dynamics at Imperial College London from October 2012 to November 2016, following a Master of Engineering in Aeronautical Engineering from the same institution between September 2008 and June 2012. Additionally, Yumnah's early career included roles as a Graduate Teaching Assistant and a Summer Intern, contributing to teaching and the development of wind tunnel technologies.
