Qingjie (Michael) Qi has worked in various roles since 2016. In 2016 they were a Teaching Assistant and Research Assistant at the UM-SJTU Joint Institute, Shanghai Jiao Tong University. In 2017 they were a Product Engineer at Bosch China. In 2018 they were a Controls Engineer at Uisee Technology (Beijing) Ltd, where they implemented a robust MPC lateral controller for self-driving vehicles and developed an Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) algorithm. In 2019 they were a Software Engineer - Planning and Control at Optimus Ride and a Control Engineer at Tesla, where they designed a nonlinear thermal controller with model-based observer for the Tesla Model 3. Currently, they are a Software Engineer - Planning at DeepRoute.ai.
Qingjie (Michael) Qi obtained a Bachelor of Science in Engineering in Mechanical Engineering from the UM-SJTU Joint Institute, Shanghai Jiao Tong University between 2013 and 2017. Qingjie (Michael) then went on to pursue a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Michigan, which they completed in 2019.
