Amanda Herman Johnson is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in scientific communication and strategic counsel within the biotechnology and pharmaceutical industries. Currently serving as the Senior Vice President of Science at Deerfield Group since June 2024, Amanda previously held key positions at Verge Scientific Communications from October 2019 to July 2024, where roles included Senior Science Director and Senior Analyst. Prior to that, Amanda worked at the AAAS as the Science Press Package Deputy Director, significantly enhancing the visibility of research journals. Additional experience includes serving as a Scientific Advisor at Spectrum and a Genomics Educator at the Smithsonian Institution, amongst other roles. Amanda holds a Ph.D. in Biology from UC San Diego and a Bachelor of Science in Microbiology and Chemistry from the University of Arizona.
