Jeff Secker is a seasoned research scientist with extensive experience in remote sensing, specializing in satellite and airborne technologies for various applications such as land-cover classification, ship detection, and Arctic change detection. Currently serving at Defence R&D Canada since November 2000, Jeff has expertise in Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR), Hyperspectral Imaging (HSI), Geospatial Intelligence, and image processing, alongside leadership in NATO's SCI-248 Task Group. Prior roles include research at the Canada Center for Remote Sensing and as an assistant professor of astronomy at Washington State University, focusing on galaxy formation and evolution. Jeff holds a PhD and MSc in Physics from McMaster University and a BSc in Physics from the University of Waterloo.
