Sharon Wilcox

Sharon Wilcox, Ph.D., serves as the Senior Texas Representative at Defenders of Wildlife and holds the position of Professor of Practice at the University of Texas at San Antonio, where contributions focus on Geography and Environmental Sustainability. In addition to a role as National Fellow at The Explorers Club, Sharon serves on the Board of Directors for both the Felidae Conservation Fund and the Friends of Laguna Atascosa National Wildlife Refuge. Previously, Sharon was an Associate Director at the University of Wisconsin-Madison's Center for Culture, History, and Environment, and worked as a Special Assistant for Ocean Conservancy. Educational qualifications include a Ph.D. in Geography and multiple degrees from the University of Texas at Austin.
