Douglas Smith

Director, Aerospace Energy at Defense Logistics Agency

Douglas Smith is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in supply chain management and procurement within the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA). Currently serving as the Director of Aerospace Energy at DLA Energy since July 2013, Douglas manages operations related to liquid rocket and missile fuels and various chemicals for the Department of Defense and federal agencies. Prior roles include Director and Associate Director of Acquisition Policy and Oversight, where Douglas led a team responsible for workforce development and oversight of substantial contracting actions. Douglas has also held significant positions within the Defense Energy Support Center and the Department of Homeland Security, demonstrating leadership in contracting and procurement administration. Educational qualifications include a Senior Executive Fellowship from Harvard Kennedy School, an Executive Education degree from UNC Kenan-Flagler Business School, a Master's in Public Administration from American University, and dual Bachelor's degrees in Supply Chain Management and Economics from Michigan State University.
