Jon Andrew

Jon Andrew has a diverse work experience spanning over two decades. Jon began their career in 2000 as an IT Support Specialist and Intern for the US Army, where they provided application, hardware, and networking support. After that, Jon worked as an IT Support Technician at the University of Arizona, where they delivered IT support to a diverse customer base while attending school full-time.

In 2004, Jon joined Lockheed Martin as a Software Engineer, developing products for the Department of Defense. Jon utilized C/C++ and Java to create software tools for processing large datasets and intelligence.

Jon then transitioned to the United States Air Force in 2006, starting as an Officer and Student Pilot. Jon went on to serve as an MC-130P Pilot and Flight Commander, leading teams in worldwide Special Operations logistics and energy delivery. Jon also worked as a T-6 Instructor Pilot and Assistant Director of Operations, instructing new students and managing projects.

In 2018, Jon joined Def-Logix, Inc. as a Senior Software Engineer, where they led a team in a DoD cybersecurity contract and developed insider threat detection software.

In 2019, Jon established their own company, Andrew Innovation LLC, as a Founder and Engineering Consultant. Jon implemented DevOps methodologies and automation of lab resources at the Air Force Cyber Proving Grounds and worked closely with Cybersecurity vendors.

Jon then served as the Chief Technology Officer for Virtual Flight Academy, working with civil flight authorities, technology firms, and military flight training experts to enhance flight training technology.

Most recently, Jon worked as a Senior DevOps Engineer for B.E.A.T. LLC. and as a Platform Engineer for Defense Unicorns.

Throughout their career, Jon demonstrated proficiency in various programming languages and technologies, such as PowerShell, VMWare, Windows Server administration, Windows C++/MFC, Prepar3D, VBA/Javascript, ElasticSearch, LogStash, and Kibana. Jon also gained experience in implementing DevOps methodologies, automation, and cybersecurity.

Jon Andrew obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Engineering from the University of Arizona, where they studied from 2000 to 2004.

Later, they pursued a Master's Degree in Military History from the American Military University. Jon attended the institution from 2011 to 2015.

Most recently, Jon Andrew completed a Master's degree in Cybersecurity from Syracuse University between 2017 and 2020.

In addition to their formal education, Jon Andrew has obtained several certifications. Jon earned the Security+ CE certification from CompTIA in July 2017. Jon also completed the following courses on LinkedIn: "C++: Move Semantics," "Learning Kali Linux," and "Python Basics for Java Developers" in August 2018.
