Oussama El-Hilali

Oussama El-Hilali is a Co-Founder & Board Member at DeFiner since 2020. From 2016 to 2020, they were the Chief Technology Officer at Arcserve, where they were responsible for transformational change from on premise to cloud focused, with growth in both top and bottom lines. From 2013 to 2016, they were the Sr. Director, Engineering at EMC, where they expanded the functionality and usability of the software stack and restructured the team for better productivity. From 2011 to 2013, they were the Sr. Vice President, Engineering & Corporate Officer at Carbonite, where they enhanced the product portfolio and reduced the total cost of R&D relative to revenue by 3 points. From 2005 to 2011, they were the Vice President, Engineering at Symantec, where they re-established the NetBackup product line as the leader in its category. From 2001 to 2005, they were the Director, Product Management at VERITAS, where they grew the NetBackup product line to several hundred million dollars.

Oussama El-Hilali obtained a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Computer Science/Mathematics from Ripon College between 1985 and 1989. Oussama then went on to pursue a Master of Science (M.S.) in Software Engineering from the University of St. Thomas between 1994 and 2002.
