Rick Colosimo serves as head of performance management for our portfolio companies and also as our general counsel. His career has primarily involved startups and fast-growing companies, in roles as CFO, COO, and CTO in very early-stage companies as well as both inside and outside legal roles. He serves on several startup boards and has done so going back to 2001, when he was working in Silicon Valley. There, he worked at one of the top three firms in Palo Alto, with a focus on venture capital financing, mergers & acquisitions, and IPOs. For example, he represented E*Trade in connection with its venture investments and Cisco Systems (then the largest company in America) in venture investments, acquisitions up to $345 million, and strategic partnerships including their $1.05 billion investment in Andersen Consulting, now Accenture. He has practiced law in New York, California, and New Jersey. Before graduating from Cornell Law School, Rick was a US Army Infantry officer and graduated from Ranger School. He graduated college in three years, including spending one year in Paris at the Sorbonne, IEP, and in other language programs.
