Helen Edmundson

Deputy Director Green Finance at DEFRA

Helen Edmundson has a diverse work experience spanning different sectors and organizations. Helen started their career as a Financial Analyst at Oakwood Holdings, UK in 2003. Helen then worked as an Assistant Economist at the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs in 2005. In 2006, they became a Trade Policy Analyst at ODI and stayed in that role until 2009. From 2009 to 2010, they worked as an Economic Policy Adviser at the Cabinet Office. Helen then joined the Department of Energy and Climate Change as the Head of Climate Finance Analysis from 2010 to 2011. In 2011, they joined The World Bank as a Young Professional/Country Economist, and stayed there until 2014. Helen then joined the Department for International Development (DFID) as a Senior Adviser from 2014 to 2019. Most recently, they have been working at the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs as the Head of International Strategy and Engagement, and is currently serving as the Deputy Director of Green Finance starting from March 2021.

Helen Edmundson studied Philosophy, Politics and Economics at the University of Oxford from 2000 to 2003, obtaining a Ba (Hons) degree. Helen then pursued a Msc degree in Development Economics at the University of Bath from 2004 to 2005.
