Madeleine Beresford is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in content design and policy advisory roles within the UK government. Currently serving as the Lead Content Designer for the GOV.UK content team and Deputy Head of Land Use for Biodiversity Net Gain at the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs since February 2018, Madeleine has managed large teams and led significant projects, including the implementation of biodiversity net gain under the Environment Act 2021. Prior to this, roles included Deputy Chief of Staff to the Permanent Secretary during the COVID pandemic, Senior Policy Advisor focused on food exports, and various positions at 10 Downing Street, where Madeleine headed the content team. Additional experience includes work with the Government Digital Service, HM Treasury, and publishing houses such as Pan Macmillan and Icon Books. Madeleine holds a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature from the University of Warwick.
