Matt Nuttall

Matt Nuttall is a seasoned professional in conservation and environmental science with extensive experience spanning over a decade. Currently serving as a Senior Scientific Adviser at the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs since February 2023, Matt is also a member of the Board of Trustees for Reforest Africa since August 2024. Previous roles include Senior Adviser in Data Science Development at Natural England and Project Officer for Saving Scotland's Red Squirrels at the Scottish Wildlife Trust. Matt has contributed to biodiversity management as a Protected Area Management Adviser and Technical Advisor for the Wildlife Conservation Society, as well as engaging in academic research as a PhD student at the University of Stirling. Educational credentials include a PhD in Conservation and Environmental Science from the University of Stirling, an MSc in Conservation Science from Imperial College London, a BSc (Hons) in Environmental Science from the University of Leeds, and a Graduate Business Development Course from the University of Exeter.
