Michael Huggins

Michael Huggins is a board member at Defy Ventures. Michael has also served as the Chief Executive Officer of MDH Advisors, the Chief Operational Officer of Synthes USA, and the Chief Financial Officer of SPECTRA SCIENCE. Huggins has over 25 years of experience in the private equity and Orthopedic Trauma and Spine industries.

Huggins began their career in 1986 as a Vice President of Operations for Town & Country. In 1992, they became the Chief Financial Officer of SPECTRA SCIENCE. Michael held this position until 1994 when they became the Senior Vice President of Operations for Synthes USA. Michael held this position until 1999 when they were promoted to Chief Operational Officer of Synthes USA. Michael held this position until 2004 when they became the President of Global Spine for Synthes. Michael held this position until 2007 when they left to start MDH Advisors.

In December 2007, Huggins became the Chief Executive Officer of Scient'x Groupe S.A.S. Michael held this position until June 2009. Huggins has been a board member at Defy Ventures since 2010.

Michael Huggins has an MBA in Strategic Planning from The Wharton School, a BS in Accounting and Finance from Villanova University, and is a Certified Public Accountant. Michael also has certification in Leadership Chester County from West Chester University of Pennsylvania, Registered Yoga Teacher's (RYT) certification at the 200-Hour Level through Power Yoga Works, Philadelphia, PA, Prison Yoga Project from Prisonyoga.com, Street Yoga from StreetYoga.org, and Advanced Yoga Immersion: Asanas, Kriyas, Bodywork & Meditation from Omega Institute for Holistic Studies.
