Max Wessel

Maxwell Wessel currently serves as Co-CEO of Degreed, leading a team focused on innovative learning solutions in an AI-driven economy. Wessel is also a Board Member at ActivTrak, advising on workforce analytics to enhance operations in a hybrid work environment, and acts as an advisor on the Advisory Board for MasterClass, aiding in the strategic transformation of corporations. As a Venture Partner at NextGen Venture Partners, Wessel has been instrumental in sourcing and leading numerous investment deals since 2013. Previously, Wessel held multiple significant roles at SAP, including Executive Vice President of SAP Learning and Managing Director of SAP Labs in the U.S., where efforts were concentrated on digital transformation and product development. Additionally, Wessel has contributed to academia as a faculty member at Stanford University and served as a Senior Fellow at Harvard Business School, focusing on innovation theory. An entrepreneur, Wessel founded nuevoStage and gained early career experience at the Boston Consulting Group. Wessel holds an MBA from Harvard Business School and a BA in Economics and Philosophy from Northwestern University.
