Francis I. Achike, MD, PhD, MEd, FCP has an extensive work experience in the field of medicine, education, and diversity and inclusion. Francis I. is currently serving as the Chief Diversity Officer at DEI Directive since 2022. Prior to that, they held the position of Dean of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion at Texas A&M University School of Medicine from 2019 to 2022.

Before joining Texas A&M, Dr. Achike worked at California University of Science and Medicine where they held multiple roles from 2015 to 2019. Francis I. served as a Professor of Pharmacology, Anesthesiology, Clinical Skills & Medical Education and also as the Associate Dean of Interprofessional Education, Clinical Skills and Simulation.

From 2013 to 2015, Dr. Achike was associated with Central Michigan University as a Professor of Pharmacology & Clinical Skills and also as the Director of Clinical Skills and Early Clinical Experience Program.

Prior to that, they worked at William Carey University College of Osteopathic Medicine from 2011 to 2013, where they held the positions of Professor of Pharmacology and Clinical Skills, and Director of Pharmacology Program.

Dr. Achike has also contributed significantly to the International Medical University [IMU], where they worked from 2000 to 2011. Francis I. served as a Professor of Pharmacology and Clinical Skills and later as the Chair Professor of Pharmacology and Clinical Skills.

Francis I. started their career at the University of Malaya as a Senior Lecturer in Pharmacology from 1996 to 2000. Prior to that, they were a Senior Research Associate at The University of Hong Kong from 1994 to 1996.

From 1991 to 1994, Dr. Achike worked at Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka as a Senior Lecturer in Clinical Pharmacology & Anesthesiology, and Chief Consultant Anesthesiologist.

Francis I. also gained valuable experience as a Commonwealth of Nations Fellow at The University of Hong Kong from 1988 to 1991.

Through their diverse roles and experiences, Dr. Achike has made significant contributions to the fields of medicine, education, and diversity and inclusion.

Francis I. Achike, MD, PhD, MEd, FCP has an extensive education history. Francis I. first attended Obafemi Awolowo University from 1972 to 1979, where they obtained their Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) degree in General Medicine and Surgery. Francis I. then pursued further education and completed an Anesthesiology Residency Program at the University of Benin from 1981 to 1983. In 1988, they began their Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) program in Cardiovascular Pharmacology at The University of Hong Kong, which they completed in 1991. Later, from 2009 to 2011, they pursued a Master's Degree in Education Management (Medical Education) at the University of Malaya. Francis I.'seducational background reflects a strong foundation in both medical and education fields.
