Boykin Jones

Deputy Chief Investigator at DeKalb County Solicitor-General's Office

Boykin Jones has a strong background in law enforcement, with experience in various roles and organizations. Boykin began their career as a Deputy Sheriff in the Richmond County Sheriff Department in 1996, where they enforced laws, provided police protection, and responded to emergency situations. In 1999, they joined the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) as a Special Agent, investigating criminal activities and conducting undercover operations. At the GBI, they prepared reports, assisted in the prosecution of cases, and testified in court. In 2006, Boykin moved to the DeKalb County District Attorney's Office, where they worked as a Senior Investigator. Boykin conducted criminal investigations, assisted attorneys with case preparations, and testified in court. In 2016, they joined the DeKalb County Solicitor-General's Office as an Investigator, conducting criminal investigations and assisting attorneys with case evaluations. Boykin was later promoted to Deputy Chief Investigator, where they supervised and managed a team of investigators, developed work schedules, and prioritized assignments. Boykin has proven skills in case management, witness interviewing, and courtroom testimony.

Boykin Jones completed their Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice from South Carolina State University in Orangeburg, South Carolina. Boykin attended the university from 1987 to 1991.

DeKalb County Solicitor-General's Office

The Office of the DeKalb County Solicitor-General, under the direction of Solicitor-General Donna Coleman-Stribling, prosecutes more than 13,000 misdemeanor crimes committed in DeKalb County each year. These cases include domestic violence, elder abuse, cruelty to children, vehicular homicide, drunk driving, harassment and stalking, trespassing and animal cruelty.
