Wendy Massie

Wendy Massie is an architect at Dekker/Perich/Sabatini with experience designing educational facilities for clients such as Amarillo ISD and Canyon ISD and healthcare projects for Presbyterian Healthcare Services. Her previous work experience includes S.E.T. Architecture located in New York City and SZH Architecture in College Station, Texas where she worked on many educational facilities for clients such as Hallettsville ISD. Wendy has a graduate certificate in Health Systems and Design from Texas A&M University and won first place in a design charrette held in Dhaka, Bangladesh with a master plan for transforming a polluted industrial area in Dhaka into a vibrant community with schools, homes and a central community wellness center.

Within the firm Wendy is a Design Technology Leader focused on Building Information Modeling (BIM), Design Visualization, and Sustainability. She has been involved through all phases of the design process and enjoys coordinating with the project team and consultants to meet the needs of the client and community. Wendy is the President-Elect for the Amarillo Chapter of the American Institute of Architects and has also served as the Vice President of Development. Wendy is an enthusiastic team member who brings passion, creativity, and excitement to any project.

Wendy also has a personal interest in the design of Senior Living Communities after having seen family members struggle to find a community that can meet all of their physical needs. This first-hand experience has revealed potential in design of future Senior Living Communities to meet the needs of the residents, caregivers and family members. Her past experience in designing educational facilities and background in healthcare design will bring a perspective to the design of Senior Living Communities to foster an environment that is collaborative, efficient and desirable.
