Winston Lee

Director R&d - Snacking at Del Monte Foods

Winston Lee has extensive work experience in the food and beverage industry. Winston started their career at MillerCoors as a Summer Intern, where they led a team in solving quality control issues and improving process specifications for beer products. Winston then worked at National Instruments as an Applications Engineer, troubleshooting and consulting on customer applications and teaching LabVIEW and other technical classes.

After that, Winston worked at E & J Gallo Winery as a Summer Intern, studying the effect of air injection systems on dissolved oxygen levels in fermentation tanks and overseeing the addition of load cells to bladder presses. Winston then joined UC-Davis as a Graduate Student Researcher, conducting research on oil migration in chocolate systems.

Winston later joined Del Monte Foods as a Food Technologist, where they developed new products and tested formulations. Winston then moved on to roles such as Senior Food Technologist and R&D Projects Manager, leading product development teams and generating cost savings through ingredient substitution, vendor qualification, and process optimization. In their most recent position as the Director of R&D - Snacking at Del Monte Foods, Winston is responsible for managing the Research and Development department's snacking portfolio.

Throughout their career, Winston has demonstrated expertise in product development, cost savings, and cross-functional collaboration.

Winston Lee has a Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, which they obtained between 1997 and 2001. Winston also holds a Master's degree in Food Science from the University of California, Davis, obtained between 2004 and 2006. Additionally, they have obtained certifications in "Building Resilience as a Leader" and "Leading at a Distance" from LinkedIn in 2021.
